Jerry O’Brien is a Managing Partner at Builders Trust Capital. He is active in sales and business development. He leads operations, credit, information technology, legal / compliance, and strategy for the organization. He focuses on building a best-in-class, scalable infrastructure that speeds processing times and improves the customer experience while mitigating credit and business risk.
Jerry has over 25 years of experience in mortgage lending and financial services. Prior to joining Builders Trust Capital in 2020, Jerry was the Chief Operating Officer for Genesis Capital LLC, a leading lender to developers.
His previous leadership roles include Co-Head of Operations at Fannie Mae, and Vice President – Operations at Ocwen Financial, where he led all customer facing operations for a multi-national, multi-facility mortgage servicer.
He started his lending career at HSBC where he held multiple executive roles. These roles include Senior Vice President – Business Transformation for HSBC Mortgage Corporation, Vice President – Marketing for HSBC Consumer & Mortgage Lending, and Vice President – Product Development for HSBC Taxpayer Financial Services. Before his lending career, Jerry was a strategy consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton as well as an investment banker with Societe Generale and Legg Mason Wood Walker.
Jerry has an MBA in Finance and Management from New York University’s Stern School of Business where he was both a Dean’s Scholar and a Stern Scholar. He holds a B.A. with Distinction in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife reside in Falls Church, Virginia.
