Human Resources Manager

Position Summary

We are looking for a Human Resources Manager who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial growth environment. Reporting to the Managing Partner, this individual will be responsible for managing, maturing and expanding the company’s human resources capabilities and people strategies.  This is a working manager role with the individual performing all of the day-to-day functions of the human resources department including, but not limited to, employee relations, talent acquisition and development, compensation / benefits, HRIS & analytics, diversity & inclusion, employee engagement, and change management.


  • Employee Relations – Provide coaching and guidance to employees regarding employment issues, policy & procedure interpretation and application, dispute resolution, corrective action, terminations, and other HR matters
  • Talent Acquisition & Management – Create, implement, and manage a holistic lifecycle approach to talent management focused on workforce planning, recruitment, on-boarding, training & career development, performance management, succession planning, retention, and offboarding
  • Compensation / Benefits – Structure, implement, and manage compensation, benefits, rewards, and recognition programs to successfully attract, motivate and retain talent
  • HRIS and Analytics – Identify, track and report key people metrics and performance indicators. Implement and manage HRIS, as required
  • Diversity & Inclusion – Develop, implement and integrate best practices and resources to increase diversity, equity, inclusion, and cultural proficiency
  • Employee Engagement – Build culture through employee engagement activities including celebrations (e.g., anniversaries, holidays), volunteer events, town halls, communications, engagement surveys, etc.
  • Change Management – Implement strategies and coach individuals to enable the organization and its employees to thrive through periods of change
  • Develop and implement corporate policies and procedures that comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Facilitate the development of business strategies (i.e. vision, mission, value, objectives) to build organizational focus, efficiency, speed, and business results
  • Oversee the human resources function and junior HR resources, as assigned
    • Set daily priorities for HR team members
    • Communicate changes to staff and ensure changes are disseminated timely through change management protocols
    • Prepare reports giving executives visibility into the HR performance
    • Manage and train junior HR employees and other employees, as required
  • Maintain and update the Company Handbook and Human Resources Policy and Procedure Manual
  • Ad hoc projects, as assigned


  • Deep knowledge of HR legal and compliance matters, including federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Prior experience with employee relations, recruiting, and compensation/benefits strongly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of HRIS, MS office and Sharepoint
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with an emphasis on listening, conflict management, teamwork and coaching
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, managing time and resources to ensure work is completed efficiently within established timeframes
  • Naturally inquisitive with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in daily activities
  • Positive personality with a high level of integrity

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in human resources, business administration, or similar field
  • 5+ years of human resources experience
  • 2+ years of people leadership experience
  • Human Resource Certification Institute (HRCI) Professional Human Resources (PHR), Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR), SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
  • Experience in the mortgage industry and/or financial services, a plus
